Our Commitment to Safe, Respectful, and Professional Education

This Code of Conduct outlines the minimum expected behaviour of all personnel within Infinity Learning. Caring for children and young people brings significant additional responsibilities, and our educators are held to the absolute highest standard of professional and ethical behaviour.

What Our Tutors Must Do

All tutors are fundamentally responsible for promoting and protecting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. Our educators actively commit to:

  • Strict Policy Adherence:
Sticking to our Child Safe Environments Policy at all times and taking all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and protection of students.
  • Absolute Equity & Respect:
Treating everyone—including staff, volunteers, students, and parents—with respect and honesty. We ensure equity is upheld for all individuals, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, social class, physical ability, or religious beliefs.
  • Positive Mentorship:
Acting as a positive role model to children and young people in all conduct with them.
  • Clear Professional Boundaries:
Setting clear boundaries regarding appropriate behaviour between the tutor and the student, helping everyone to understand their specific roles.
  • Active Listening & Voice:
Listening and responding appropriately to the views of children and young people, and actively encouraging them to ‘have a say’ on issues that are important to them.
  • Bullying Prevention:
Being highly alert to bullying behaviours and responding promptly and appropriately.
  • Visibility & Safety:
Ensuring that another adult is always present or clearly in sight when conducting one-on-one tutoring.
  • Mandatory Reporting:
Being highly alert to students who are, or may be, at risk of harm, and reporting this quickly to the Child Abuse Report Line (13 14 78).
  • Fair Resolution:
Responding quickly, fairly, and transparently to any serious complaints made by a child, young person, or their parent/guardian.

What Our Tutors Must NEVER Do

To maintain a purely professional and safe educational environment, under no circumstances will our tutors:

  • No Inappropriate Contact:
Engage in rough physical games of any kind.
  • No Favouritism:
Develop any ‘special’ relationships with children or young people that could be seen as favouritism, such as the offering of gifts or special treatment.
  • No Personal Care:
Do things of a personal nature that a child or young person can do for themselves, such as toileting or changing clothes.
  • No Discrimination:
Discriminate against any child or young person because of their age, gender, cultural background, religion, vulnerability, or sexuality.

Breaches of the Code of Conduct

We Take Your Child's Safety Seriously

A breach of this Code of Conduct is taken incredibly seriously. Any allegations of a possible breach will be dealt with urgently as per our Child and Young Person Safe Environment Policy. The consequences of a breach may result in immediate disciplinary action including, but not limited to, instant dismissal from providing tutoring services with us.

Tutor Agreement:

Agreement to strictly abide by this Code is a mandatory requirement. All tutors are required to acknowledge and sign this Code of Conduct via the tutor registration portal on our website before they can accept any work. Evidence of this written acknowledgment is securely retained by Infinity Learning.
