Creating a Safe, Supportive, and Empowering Space for Every Student

At Infinity Learning, the safety, wellbeing, and protection of children and young people is always our first priority. We are strictly committed to providing a secure environment in full compliance with the Children and Young People (Safety) Act 2017 (SA) and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.

Our Core Safety Promises

🛡️ Zero Tolerance for Harm

We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, and discrimination. All children are embraced and respected regardless of their abilities, gender, or cultural background.

🛑 Rigorous Screening

Every single tutor, volunteer, and staff member must hold a valid, 'not prohibited' Working with Children Check (WWCC) verified directly through the Department of Human Services.

🗣️ Mandated Notifiers

All our educators are trained Mandated Notifiers, legally obligated to report any reasonable belief of harm to the authorities.

Our Child-safe Policies & Procedures

Recruitment & Strict Screening

We only attract and retain the best educators. Our recruitment process is rigorous:

  • We review CVs, conduct strict interviews, and require potential tutors to demonstrate how they would protect vulnerable children.
  • All tutors must undergo an induction and agree in writing to our Child and Young Person Safe Environments Policy.
  • We maintain a strict register of all Working with Children Checks (WWCC) and continuously verify their validity online through the DHS Screening Unit portal.
  • If we become aware of any serious criminal or misconduct information regarding an educator, we immediately advise the Screening Unit.

Educator Training & Supervision

Our staff receive ongoing supervision, support, and training to maintain the highest safety standards:

  • RRHAN-EC Training:
Tutors who are Registered Teachers, or who work within the Department of Education, must complete the Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) training every three years.
  • At an absolute minimum, all tutors must successfully complete the online Fundamentals Course via the Department of Education’s Plink Platform.

Our Code of Conduct

All personnel must sign and adhere to a strict Code of Conduct that sets clear boundaries.

  • Tutors Must:
Be positive role models, ensure another adult is always present or in sight during 1:1 tutoring, and respond promptly to any concerns.
  • Tutors Must Never:
Engage in rough physical games, develop 'special' relationships or show favouritism (such as offering gifts), perform personal care tasks a student can do themselves, or discriminate in any way.
  • Any alleged breach of this Code is taken incredibly seriously. Tutors under investigation for serious offences are immediately stood down pending the outcome.

Reporting & Responding To Harm

  • As Mandated Notifiers, our tutors have a legal obligation to report any reasonable belief that a child is at risk of harm directly to the Child Abuse Report Line (CARL) on 13 14 78 or South Australia Police (SAPOL) on 000.
  • Once a report is made to the authorities, the tutor must immediately notify our designated Child and Young Person Safety Officer.
  • To ensure the ongoing safety of all students, any tutor accused of causing harm will be immediately stood down pending the outcome of the official police or DCP investigation.

We Value Your Voice: Complaints & Feedback

Children, young people, and their families are strongly encouraged to understand their rights and share their feedback. We deal with all complaints promptly, sensitively, and with procedural fairness. If you have a general complaint, feedback, or a concern regarding a breach of our Code of Conduct, please contact our designated Safety Officer and Principal Tuition Consultant, Natalie Lai:

Policy Review & Risk Management

To maintain a safe environment, Infinity Learning review risks regularly. A new compliance statement is lodged with the Department of Human Services each time the policy is updated.
